OppetGrooming is a mother-daughter business that came together in a way neither of them originally expected.
Brandee began her career as a registered dietitian for the United States Navy. After retiring, she realized she wanted to spend the next chapter of her life doing something more hands-on with animals. A local veterinary clinic gave her the opportunity to attend grooming school, and nearly five years later she still enjoys the work every day.
Three years ago, one week before Corrine's high school graduation, Corrine experienced her first grand mal seizure. At first, it was hoped to be a one time event. Unfortunately, that was not the case. In August-- just two days before Corrine was set to leave for college 1,500 miles away on the West Coast--she experienced a second seizure and was diagnosed with Epilepsy.
With that diagnosis, Corrine's plans had to change. Instead of a staying at college, she chose to move home and attend grooming school and pursue a new path working with animals.
Once Corrine graduated from grooming school, Brandee was ready for a change from the veterinary clinic, and Corrine needed a grooming environment that would be safe and accommodating. Those circumstances ultimately led to the creation of OppeltGrooming.
Today, OppeltGrooming operates as a calm, kennel-free grooming space where pets receive a patient, dual-grooming approach. Whether pets visit for grooming, boarding, walks, or simply extra attention and comfort, the goal remains the same:
To treat every pet like a member of the family.
